Rewriting Sentences

Follow the instructions

Rewrite the following sentences using the word ‘set’ as a noun, verb, or phrasal verb.

1. Harish has strong desire to become a software researcher, where as his sister, Namita, has a burning desire to be a playback singer.

2. The captain of the cruise sheep announced, “We will start our journey for the Andaman Islands tomorrow at 3am.”

3. The unemployment problem in India has reached alarming levels. The government must take urgent action to tackle it.

4. My ailing grandma was lying on her bed helplessly. I pulled a chair and sat by his bed side to comfort her.

5. The police inspector had tortured the convict in his custody. Latter, when the court acquitted him, he wanted to take revenge and planned to attack him.

6. The resident of the seaside town decided to lock their homes and flee to safer places before the cyclone headed west towards their town.

7. The hijab row is being heard by the Karnataka high court now. Its judgment expected next week will be used as a reference in all future disputes of this nature.

8. A short circuit in the fire alarm system caused the sounding of sirens forcing the residents to leave their apartments to safety.
