Below is a sample Email detailing how a complaint can be written regarding the absence of staff in a local hospital.
To
The Hon’ble Minister of Health
Government of Odisha
Sir,
I am a doctor by profession who just retired from military service of 22 years. Since I love my village — (name), and its people, I decided to spend the rest of my life here with my parents and my villagers.
As you know, there is a government hospital at —- (name) in less than two kilometers from my home. Out of curiosity, I went there yesterday to meet the medical staff and exchange greetings. However, I was shocked to see the skeleton medical staff there. Only one doctor was attending to a long queue of patients. I was told that the hospital’s sanctioned staff strength is five doctors, 18 nurses, four pharmacists, and 12 sanitation staff. Quite horrifyingly, I got to realize that only two doctors, and five nurses, one pharmacist and six sanitation staff are presently deployed. Other vacancies are yet to be filled. On the day of my visit, only one doctor was on duty, whereas the other was on leave. The hospital premises were dirty and disorderly.
The situation caused dismay and resentment in me. Seeing sick people standing in long queues for medical attention is inhuman, and cruel. The public’s suffering knows no limits.
I urge you to please take immediate administrative action to remedy the neglectful situation in the hospital. From my side, I am ready to offer any kind of service needed by the patients there. However, filling up the vacancies is both urgent and important.
Regards,
Dr. ————- (mobile number ………)
