My friend Amit was just 10 when his grandfather passed away leaving the whole family in deep sorrow. The 65-year-old man was quite fit and healthy. No one in my family told me anything about my grandfather’s death.

When I grew up, I came to know that my grandpa had died of brain tumour.

He had never felt any symptom of the disease before. One night, he woke up due to severe pain in his head, neck and heart. The———— pain he was suffering made him scream and cry. The whole family wad in panic. They rushed him to a specialised hospital in the city. The doctors there admitted him to the emergency ward and began to conduct various tests on my grandfather’s body.

My parents and my neighbour were waiting outside anxiously. For them, the one-hour wait appeared to be ————- long. Later, the senior doctor called my parents to his chamber to explain the laboratory findings. He said that a tumour in the brain had grown too large in size and had done ————— damage to the brain.
